Bangladesh all-rounder Mahedi Hasan admitted he had to struggle a lot to get opportunities in the national team as he is not an ‘auto-choice’ player.
Mahedi spoke to the media at Bashundhara Sports Complex after practice with Rangpur Riders ahead of his upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
“I am not an auto-choice player. I had to struggle a lot to play. After 10 matches, 15 matches an opportunity comes, and I look forward to that opportunity. I’m looking forward to playing when the opportunity comes,” said Mahedi.
Mahedi displayed a steller performance in the recent New Zealand T20Is where Bangladesh managed to secure maiden away win against Kiwis.
