Mohammedan Cricket Committee President AGM Sabbir confirmed that Shakib Al Hasan will play for Mohammedan in the 2023 season of Dhaka Premier League (DPL).
There were rumors that Shakib will play for Abahani this season. Even through various posts and comments on the official page of the club, it was being claimed that he will play for this club.
"I would like to confirm one thing on behalf of Mohammedan Club that Shakib Al Hasan will play for Mohammedan in Dhaka Premier League 2023 season. If any photo is seen on another club's website or if someone claims that Shakib is playing for another club then it is not true. I spoke to Shakib today, February 20th at 5 PM BST, he confirmed to me that he was not in any such discussions about playing for another club" Sabbir cleared the matter via a video massage.
Shakib had a contract with Mohammedan last season too.
Meanwhile, Abahani has added Taskin Ahmed, Anamul Haque Bijoy, Rakibul Hasan, Ripon Mandal to the team.
Litton Das is also set to play for the same team. Taskin last played for Mohammedan, Enamul-Rakibul Prime Bank Cricket Club, Ripon played for Shinepukur Cricket Club.
