Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed opened up about Tiger’s new head coach Chandika Hathurusingha, who is taking charge for the second time, like everyone else Taskin is also optimistic about the Sri Lankan’s return.
During Hathurusingha’s first phase in 2014, Taskin started his career in ODI cricket. The young pacer won the coach's heart with 5 wickets on his debut against India. Bangladesh's speed star has flourished himself under the Lankan’s guidance till 2017.
Taskin could not play the last three matches of Dhaka Dominators in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) due to a hamstring injury. He started the rehabilitation process and did light running at the BCB Academy on Wednesday. He is likely to return to bowling from Friday.
Later in the afternoon, Taskin appeared at an event to become the ambassador for ‘Realman Body Spray and Perfume’ as he is hopeful that his first international coach will bring good times with much mature players than before.

“I am thrilled to have the former Hathurusingha as our coach. He is quite a good quality coach and honest person. Surely the journey with him will be much better. Those of us who were cricketers at that time were very young. We are also much more mature than before. The position of the team is also good. Hope something good happens," Taskin said today.
"(After the confirmation of return for the second time) everyone has spoken to him. He communicated with everyone. He shared the plan... What role will the bowlers play, what role the batters will play. He will meet again when he comes” he added.
The pacer also spoke about the upcoming England series. Bangladesh have lost only one ODI series at home since the 2015 World Cup. It was against the English in 2016.
Taskin did not directly say about beating the same opponent after almost 6 and a half years. However, this pacer is seeing a big opportunity as the red and green are playing in their home turf.
“Definitely (England series) will not be easy. They are a big team, a strong team in all versions. But we are also a strong side at home. There will be a fight and we will give our best.”
“Actually, you cannot measure everything with logic. I think those who play good cricket on their day will win. All things considered, they are ahead of us, no doubt about it. But since the game is at home, we can expect to win the series” Taskin added.
The white-ball series against the Lions, including three ODIs and as many T20Is, starts from March 1.
