Captain Shakib Al Hasan believes this T20 World Cup performance is the best possible result they could have hoped despite being fifth in the points table out of six team.
Bangladesh have been eliminated from the T20 World Cup after winning two of their five Group 2 matches. They had every chance of reaching the semi-finals if they beat Pakistan in Adelaide on Sunday.
They lost by 5 wickets and are now fifth in the group table, just behind the Netherlands, who beat South Africa earlier due to a less NRR.

The Tigers had chances against India and Pakistan in both matches in Adelaide. But they got it wrong when it counted the most.

"In terms of results, this is the best performance we had in T20 World Cups. We could've done better. But having said that, with the new guys coming in, with the changes, this is the best we could expect," Shakib said in the presentation.
Shakib stated that a total of 140-150 would have been a reasonable total on the field. Despite the bowlers' valiant efforts, they were unable to reach the target and eventually lost the match.
"At the halfway stage we were 70/1. Wanted to get somewhere around 145-150 - would've been a reasonable total on that pitch. Knew it was going to be difficult for the new batters so wanted set batters to carry through to the end which didn't happen," he further said.
