England speedster Mark Wood clocked at 154 kmh against Afghanistan in the first match of the T20 World Cup and stated that he has "more in the tank".
Wood bowled the fastest spell in T20 World Cup history against Afghanistan on Saturday, averaging 149kph as he dismissed opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz and captain Mohammad Nabi to finish with figures of 2-23.
"I don't think I'm in their bracket. Though I've got more consistently high pace than them. I feel in a great place at the minute so hopefully I can keep that going," said Wood.
"I actually feel I have more in the tank than that. I struggled in my first couple of overs because I was slipping quite a bit. There was a lot of grass on the wicket and it was a bit tacky on top so I was sliding,” the player said.
Pakistan's Shoaib Akhter became the first bowler to break 100mph, doing so against England in the 2003 World Cup, before Australia's Lee reached 100.1mph against New Zealand in 2005.
Another Aussie pacer Tait recorded the same speed during an one-day international in 2010 against England.
