Bangladesh left-handed batter Najmul Hossain Shanto said he always had belief in his skills and capabilities.
Shanto was dropped from the Asia Cup squad following a poor performance in the series against Zimbabwe. However, he was named in the T20 World Cup team, and also called up in the tri-series.
Shanto made a remarkable comeback on his return to the T20 side, as the latter top-scored with 33 runs in 29 deliveries for Bangladesh against New Zealand.

“I always had belief in my skills. Had been through a tough time. I will try to be consistent if there is an opportunity in the future,” said Shanto during the press conference.
"Whenever I got a chance in the team, I talked to the coach, the selectors, everyone. I already know that if I get a chance I will bat at the top,” he said.
Shanto said that the team management was by his side even though he was dropped from the team.
“To be honest I wasn't that stressed. There was always support from the coaching panel, from the management, from the selection panel. Everyone was on the side,” he added.
