Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan admitted that his side failed to withstand New Zealand's quality spin attack after their 8-wicket defeat against the hosts.
Shakib, who missed the first game after arriving late to Christchurch, scored 16 off 16 balls but failed to make an impact with the ball.

Shakib said his side's total was a difficult one to defend and also lauded the Kiwi spinners.
"I thought New Zealand's spinners bowled really well. We started very well but in the middle overs, with their quality spin, we couldn't handle it. We probably tried to play too many big shots and it cost us momentum," said Shakib.
The captain also explained the reason behind batting lower down the order. He also said that Bangladesh need to improve their batting department.
"I was supposed to bat up but two spinners were bowling and we wanted to have a left-right combination. Batting is one area we need to improve and will keep on working on it," he added.
