Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon revealed that captain Shakib al Hasan always pick his best playing XI for the matches.
Papon also stated that Shakib chooses the suitable players in the squad, however, he also discusses with the coach before deciding on the final XI.
“No! Shakib has no problem. Remember one thing, when Shakib is the captain there is no issue of who is the coach or who is not. He decides the best playing XI,” said Papon.

“Of course, he may consult with the coach. But the coach also prioritizes the captain in terms of the best XI. They discuss what the game plan will be. Even if we don't have a head coach, Khaled Mahmud Sujon will do it, if Jalal Yunus is there, he will do it too,” he added.
BCB has appointed Sridharan Sriram as a technical consultant ahead of the Asia Cup. He is set to work till the T20 World Cup in Australia.
