Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal admitted Zimbabwe are the better team in the ongoing three-match series as the home side have outplayed Bangladesh by clinching the series with a game in hand.

Sikandar Raza second ton (117*) in consecutive matches as Zimbabwe staged a great run chase for the second time in three days to beat Bangladesh by five wickets on Sunday.

Zimbabwe reached 291-5 with 15 balls to spare after the early loss of wickets and a slow scoring rate suggested they had little chance of success at Harare Sports Club.

“The difference is four hundreds for them and 0 for us. We put a decent total. We got a good start but no one continued. The wicket was good from the beginning. It wasn't easy against the spinners. All credit to Zimbabwe, they were the better team this series. We have to pull up our socks. We haven't played our best cricket and that's why we are in this position.” Tamim said after the match.

The Pakistan-born batsman hit four sixes and eight fours off 127 deliveries and his 201-run fifth-wicket partnership with captain Regis Chakabva turned the tide after Bangladesh posted 290-9 in Harare.

Stand in skipper Chakabva got his maiden ton off 73 balls. The latter got out after getting the hundred. He hit 10 fours and two sixes en route to a superb 102.

“Better late than never (on registering his maiden ton). It (series win) is massive, we've been playing some good cricket. We were itching to play good cricket. To win the series, it's really nice. We've been trying to play positive cricket. The coaches asked me to take it deep and I batted positively. We have to play good cricket again, we'll be looking to win (the final ODI)” Chakabva said in the presentation.

This is Zimbabwe’s first ODI series against Bangladesh since 2013.
