Australia batter Steven Smith has been ruled out of the remainder of the T20I series after suffering a concussion during fielding against Sri Lanka in the second T20I on Sunday.

The incident happened in the third-last ball of the match as Maheesh Theekshana smashed Marcus Stoinis, as the ball went high up in the sky. Even as the ball seemed to be sailing over the ropes for a maximum, but Steve Smith did not missed the chance but dived full stretch to save the valuable runs.

He was immediately in some discomfort and the medical staff attended to him quickly. He was able to get up and walk around the boundary without assistance but he did not field for the final two balls of the innings or during the Super Over.
