Moeen Ali, an England all-rounder, is currently playing for Comilla Victorians in the Bangladesh Premier League, and although being of Pakistani and English origin, he believes Bangladesh is just as much a home for him.
Moeen's wife, Firoza Hossain, was born in Sylhet, and as a result, Moeen has a strong bond with the northeastern city. In 2005, Moeen traveled to Bangladesh with England's age-group team for the first time. In 2010-2011, he also played for Mohammedan in the Dhaka Premier League.

Moeen had a tour in 2013 BPL and in-between tours with the national squad. He had, however, never visited Sylhet before.
On Sunday, following practice, the English all-rounder talked about his family visiting Sylhet. "My wife is here. Her sisters, brother-in-law, they are all in Dhaka, coming to Sylhet in two days' time," Moeen told reporters in Sylhet.
Moeen, who was born in England to Pakistani parents, feels equally as home in Bangladesh. Although the bio-bubble prevented the lend-handed hitter from spending time with his family.
"Bangladesh is home, Pakistan is home, England is home. I see them as all the same to be honest. All my in-laws are here. Respect to them, it's my first-time in Sylhet. They always used to tell me, 'let's go to Sylhet' but somehow, I couldn't manage the time. It's nice to be here now. It's a shame we can't go out but I am very happy to be here," he said.
