England former cricketer and commentator Nasser Hussain stated Bangladesh are underperforming in the ongoing T20 World Cup because they don’t have any alternative strategy.
Bangladesh started their World Cup campaign without the experienced opener Tamim Iqbal, who opted out of the tournament to provide chances to others. In the middle, they lost their ace-allrounder Shakib al Hasan due to a hamstring injury.
Meanwhile, key-bowler Mustafizur Rahman is also in a bad form after the tight-fisted IPL campaign. As a result, he was benched in their last encounter against South Africa that they lost by 6 wickets after being skittled on 84.

“Bangladesh fans are hugely disappointed. Because they were hoping for good results and progress in the World Cup. Right from the start, they didn't get Tamim and Shakib got injured halfway through the tournament. Also, Fizz did not bowl particularly well. He was dropped from the last game, I don't know why? Their big guns haven’t really turned up and their fielding has not been particularly good,” said Nasser.
Bangladesh have been in poor form in the ongoing tournament despite preparing themselves in slow-pitches and defeating big sides Australia (4-1) and New Zealand (3-2) at home.
Nasser reckoned the lack of power hitters and shabby fielding of the side also pointed out that Tigers are not being able to execute the UAE conditions because they don't have a Plan B.
“They don’t have the power hitters. In the absence of Tamim, no one could take on the boundaries. They are so used to winning at home, but they need to win away from home as well. The spinning wickets at home done some good, but they are not always spinning big in the world tournament. They need a plan B but they don’t have any plan B.
