Former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza's remark on the team management does not bother Bangladesh bowling coach Ottis Gibson, who claims it came from "outside."

Mashrafe, Bangladesh's former ODI captain, turned to social media on Monday to blame coaching issues for the team's loss to Sri Lanka in the Super 12s stage of the ICC T20 World Cup.

“Does this mean we have taken the best fielding side in the World Cup? The team management now looks simply like a rehab center where all coaches without jobs in South Africa has been gathered. It is tough to get rid of them because the termination clause is heavy. So it stands that they will stay as long as they want and do whatever they want in the dressing room,” wrote the most successful ODI captain of the country.

Gibson was questioned if this will have an impact on the team's performance in the UAE.

“I have no thoughts whatsoever [on Mashrafe’s comment towards the team management]. That doesn't interest or concern me what anybody outside of our circle is saying. We know what we do here as a coaching group, so whatever anybody outside the group is saying doesn't really matter,” said Gibson at the virtual press conference held in Dubai on Tuesday.

Tigers' bowling coach Ottis Gibson, in his pre-match press conference, said that the coaching unit tries to back the player despite any miss rather than blaming him.

"It goes back to the individual and how he sees it. From a coaching point of view, we back the player. We remind him of the quality, role and value that he brings to the team. We also remind him that four more games are left in the group stage," Gibson said about the team's reaction after Litton's missed chance.
