Fifties from Irfan, Shanto put Bangladesh A in driving seat

Bangladesh Hp team posted 43 runs for three wickets on Day 2 of the four-day match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.


Sadman Islam (56), Nazmul Hossain Shanto (96) and wicket-keeper batsman Irfan Shukkur (85) helped Bangladesh A to score 339 runs in the first innings.


In reply, HP finished the second day with 43 runs for 3 wickets at stumps. Hp failed to make a good start as the openers Parvez Hossain Emon and Tanzid Hasan Tamim put on 29 runs for the opening stand.

However, Akbar Ali's team lost 3 wickets for 1 run setting 30 runs for 3 wickets. Emon (12) was returned by fast bowler Shahidul and spinner Naeem Hasan returned Mahmudul Hasan Joy (1) and Shahadat Hossain Dipu (0).


Bangladesh A team added 79 runs while losing all wickets on Day 2. Sukkur who was unbeaten on 28 runs on Day 1, played a knock of 85 runs off 174 balls aided by ten four and two sixes.


BCB HP Unit's right-arm seamer Sumon Khan picked up four wickets, while fellow right-arm pacer Hasan Murad bagged two.


Earlier, At the close of Day 1 Bangladesh A team scored 260 runs on the scoreboard. Shadman Islam and Nazmul Hossain Shanto scored fifty, while Shanto missed the century for just 4 runs.
