Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed Sri Lanka’s Rangana Herath as the spin bowling consultant and Ashwell Prince has been named as the batting consultant for the Zimbabwe tour. Cricket Operations Committee chairman Akram Khan has confirmed to Cricfrenzy on Saturday [June 26].
Bangladesh team has been without an International bowling coach for a long time as BCB did not renew the contract with Daniel Vettori. Sohel Islam has worked as an interim coach of the Bangladesh cricket team in the latest Sri Lanka series.
“Our batting coach is South African Ashwell Prince. His reputation as a player is very good. At the same time, we discussed with the head coach and appointed him. The coach ranked him very high. We took him for the Zimbabwe series. Then we will think about the future,"

"We have taken Herath as the spin bowling coach till the World Cup. We will extend the contract if we see their performance improves,” said Akram.
Herath will be the coach of the Bangladesh team until ICC T20 World Cup. The 43-year-old Herath has been the most successful left-arm spinner with 433 wickets.
In the meantime, Prince has reached an agreement with BCB to work with Bangladesh on the Zimbabwe tour. He has appeared 119 times for South Africa in three formats.
Left-Hander Prince is also a Level 3 coach who has worked as the batting consultant for South Africa A and also had been the interim Head Coach. He has the record of being the 1st non-white man to captain the South African cricket team.
