Shakib-Mustafiz will boost the team against SL, says Saifuddin

Bangladesh pace bowling all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin wants to earn maximum points in the ICC ODI Super League by winning the ODI series against Sri Lanka at home. During a press conference on Friday, Saifuddin also said that having Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman in the squad would improve their team performances.
Bangladesh has been whitewashed in the T20I series as well as the ODI series in New Zealand. Saifuddin's performance was as disappointing as the team's performance. Despite getting a chance in two T20s of the series, he took only one wicket. However, this pace bowling all-rounder is quite confident to do well against Sri Lanka.
"We couldn't live up to the expectations in New Zealand and ended up being whitewashed. It was really disappointing. But as the upcoming assignment is a home series, we will try to get back to winning ways. We are sweating it out despite we are fasting,” said Saifuddin.
“It will be challenging for us as we just lost the Test series against the same opposition. As there are points up for the grabs, we will try our best to achieve them," he said.
Saifuddin believes that the inclusion of Shakib and Mustafiz in the squad has strengthened the side.
"I've played so much international and domestic cricket in Mirpur and if given a chance, I'll put in my best effort. The inclusion of Shakib (Al Hasan) Bhai and Mustafiz (Mustafizur Rahman) will do a whole lot of good to the team's balance. Taskin (Ahmed) Bhai is in good shape as well. I think we are in a great position as a team," he added.
