Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) maintained their unbeaten run, defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 38 runs in Match 10 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday.

Chasing a target of 205 runs, KKR ended their chase at 166 for eight in 20 overs. The KKR batting line-up never really got going during the chase, with Andre Russell top-scoring with 31 runs off 20 balls.

Eoin Morgan (29) and Shakib Al Hasan (26) also made decent contributions but couldn't prevent a defeat. Kyle Jamieson was in good form for RCB, taking three wickets. Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal and Harshal Patel registering two dismissals, with Washington Sundar bagging one wicket.

Earlier, finishing their innings at 204 for four in 20 overs, RCB had a shaky start, losing captain Virat Kohli in the early stages, followed by Rajat Patidar. With the arrival of Glenn Maxwell, RCB got the much-needed stability. The Australian all-rounder slammed 78 runs off 49 balls, and had good partnerships with Devdutt Padikkal and AB de Villiers.

De Villiers gave RCB a strong finish, with an unbeaten knock of 76 runs off 34 balls, packed with nine fours and three sixes. Meanwhile, Varun Chakravarthy took two wickets for KKR, and Pat Cummins, Prasidh Krishna registered a dismissal each.
