Nigar’s second ton guides emerging side to fourth win

Bangladesh women’s emerging team clinched the fourth ODI by 110 runs against South Africa emerging team at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Century from Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana and 4 wickets by Fahima Khatun propelled it to an easy win.
Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first. Bangladesh openers Shamima Sultana and Murshida Khatun could not make a good start as Shamima had to return with 10 runs from 21 balls. Skipper Nigar joined the crease and helped the team to rebound with a 82-run partnership with Murshida. However, Murshida returned scoring 41 off 78 balls with 5 boundaries.

Then Sobhana Mostary and Nigar anchored the innings, adding 97 runs together. Sobhana missed half-century for 5 runs as she returned for 45 runs off 52 balls with 3 fours and 1 six. By the end of their innings Nigar remained unbeaten and completed her second century, scoring 101 runs off 132 balls with 8 fours and 1 six. Lata Mondal also was not-out for 25 runs. On the other hand, Jones, Andrews and Baneti took one wicket each for the Proteas.
The South Africa Emerging Women's team required 237 runs to win, however they lost wickets at regular intervals from the start. South Africa lost 6 wickets within 66 runs and had to finish at 126 runs. Anne Bosch has scored the highest 63 runs for the Proteas.
Fahima took 4 wickets, Salma Khatun got a couple while Ritu Moni, Nahida Akhter and Lata got 1 wicket each for Bangladesh.
However, South African Emerging Women's team have to return to the country without playing the last match of the five match ODI series due to abroad flight ban from Bangladesh for the ongoing lockdown. The matter has been confirmed to the media by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
