In the first T20 match against New Zealand, Bangladesh's batting once again let them down, and they had to lose by 66 runs. However, since the size of the field was small all-rounder Afif Hossain thought it was possible to chase the target of 210 runs.
The cricket grounds in New Zealand are smaller in size, although, the Bangladesh batsmen could not take advantage of the opportunity. The young all-rounder thinks that this run could have been chased if they would not lost wickets at regular intervals.

"I think the wicket was good for batting because the ground was small in size (Hamilton), it was an advantage for the batsmen. Their batsmen have been able to take advantage of the ground very well," Afif said.
"We could have batted better, since the size of the field was small, I think it was possible to chase such a score. If we hadn't lost back-to-back wickets, maybe we could have chased this run,” he added.
In the absence of Mushfiqur Rahim and Tamim Iqbal, Afif got the opportunity to play in the first T20 match. He smashed 45 runs off 33 balls, including five fours and one six. Despite the fact that his side lost the match, he believes has gained some valuable experience.
