Bangladesh trio win PSL title with Lahore Qalandars
26 May 25Bangladesh premier all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has commented Saturday that no cricketer has come up from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) High Performance (HP) unit in the last 4-5 years. He also claimed that the authorities were not trying hard. However, HP Unit chairman Naimur Rahman Durjoy has denied Shakib's claim. The former Bangladesh captain thinks it is surprising to ask such questions when HP is doing well.
Shakib during a Live session with Cricfrenzy alongside many other statements, questioned about BCB HP Unit's contribution in developing cricketers.

“I am not sure how many players did the BCB HP unit develop in last four-five years. There are many (in the board) who once represented Bangladesh team. But I am not sure what they are working on in the board,” said Shakib during the Live session.
HP unit chairman Naimur following an meeting at BCB president Nazmul Hasan’s residence involving few directors said, “It is unexpected for me and it should be same for you too. You all know where HP unit was four or five years back and now. There are many U19 cricketers who played for HP and for the national team. That is open for everyone to see.”
“Very recently BCB HP Unit won all matches against Ireland Wolves. So it is surprising to me of him (Shakib) raising questions when the unit is performing well. I am not sure there is something (intention) behind this,” said the former Bangladesh captain.
