West Indies defeated Bangladesh by 17 runs in the second Test, as a result, they whitewashed Mominul Haque's team by 2-0. This is the first time since 2012 that the Caribbeans have won a two-match Test series on subcontinental soil.
After the victory, Caribbean captain Kraigg Brathwaite said that he is very proud of his team's performance. However, the Caribbeans started the ODI series with 3-0 after being whitewashed.

Skipper Brathwaite showed magic with ball in the second Test of the series. Although batting is the main job, Brathwaite helped to collapse Bangladesh's batting line-up in the Dhaka Test as he took 3 wickets for 25 runs.

“I would say it's a team effort. The one-day team is not doing well, but we wanted to do well here. We had a plan, enjoyed it, and were happy to win the series. I wasn't surprised with my wickets of the openers. Wanted to come on, keep it tight. It's a series win in Asia since 2012 for the first time.” He said.
In the absence of regular captain Jason Holder, Brathwaite took charge of the Caribbean tour of Bangladesh. He won the Test series by leading from the front as the captain. The West Indies captain said they had to face a lot of criticism after the ODI series. However, he is happy to be able to prove them wrong by winning the Test series
“We came here without a lot of players, along with that many rules and regulations have to be obeyed. Thank God I had the opportunity to captain the West Indies. The boys played according to their own plans and they were very disciplined. Very proud of the boys. Everyone will return home this time. Cricket means everything to us. Everyone will be proud. People wrote us off. But we kept it simple, enjoyed it, and we proved them wrong.”
