Legendary former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has spoken about MS Dhoni’s chances to play at next year’s World Cup. The former Indian captain hasn’t enjoyed the best of forms after the conclusion of a great outing at the Indian Premier League.
While the wicketkeeper has been among the runs for the Men in Blue, he hasn’t particularly scored them at a quick rate. As a result, there are calls for him to replaced ahead of the World Cup next year but Sachin Tendulkar thinks that there is a great amount of time before the biggest cricket tournament takes place and the decision is up to what Dhoni thinks.

“World Cup? Well it is all up to what he (Dhoni) thinks. I don’t know what are the plans of the captain (Virat Kohli) and coach (Ravi Shastri). We are almost a year away for the World Cup, so there is a lot of time.”
Tendulkar, who has scored over 34000 runs in international cricket, is of the opinion that the management should “wait and watch” on Dhoni since the shuffling of the team during T20s and ODIs against England wasn’t made with form as a basis.
“If you have seen the recent three ODIs and Twenty20 International games, there were changes in the team that had nothing to do with the form. There could be a number of challenges for a player – some could be fitness challenges and some could be form challenges. I would just wait and watch.”
