Under 19 world cup star Rakibul Hasan said on Thursday that he tries to emulate legendary all-rounder Shakib al Hasan styles in bowling and reading the batsman mind.

Bangladesh thrashed South Africa by 104 runs in the third quarterfinal of the under 19 world cup.

Rakibul bagged five wickets conceding 19 runs in 9.3 overs and was also man of the match. The spinner earlier took the first hat-trick of this World Cup.

In the post-match press conference  Rakibul was delighted with his performance and said he has no role model but he follows Shakib al Hasan.

‘’I have no role model in cricket, but I try to follow Shakib Al Hasan. He is a legendary cricketer in Bangladesh.I try to follow how he reads the opposition batsman and also understanding the wicket. This may lead to my success. I have worked really hard in the last one-year .i played well and the team also played well.’’ Rakibul said at Potchefstroom on Thursday.

Rakibul also added that Bangladesh played normal cricket in the quarterfinal rather than taking the pressure of the match and also said they have prepared well for the big event in the last year

‘’We tried to play normal cricket.we have done quite well before coming to the world cup in the last couple of series.we have planned in the dressing room and talked about our game plan among ourselves. I think we have implemented our game plan well ‘’ said Rakibul.

Bangladesh will now face New Zealand in the semifinal at the same venue on February 6.
