BCB to partially bear Nasir's surgical expenses


Bangladeshi all-rounder Nasir Hossain will undergo knee ligament reconstruction surgery in Australia on Friday (June 8), according to Dr. Debashis Chowdhury, the BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) physician. The surgery will be performed by Dr. David Young, who has previously helped Bangladesh cricketers, including their ODI skipper Mashrafe Mortaza, recover from injury.
“Nasir Hossain is already in Melbourne (Australia) and the surgery will be performed by Australia’s renowned sports surgeon Dr. David Young,” Debashish was quoted as saying by Pakistan Observer.
“The player has knee ligament reconstruction surgery,” he added.

A source close to Pakistan Observer has revealed that BCB will bear a portion of Nasir’s medical expenses and the board is likely to spend up to $8,000 for the 26-year-old, who had been chopped from central contract list back in 2017.
“While Nasir Chaudhary’s medical expenses will be reimbursed but not fully. Most of his expenses will be paid but it will be restricted to USD 8,000” the source reportedly confirmed.
“Nasir is not a regular member of the team and he opted to go for surgery in Australia.”
Nasir Hossain sustained the twisted his knee during a personal visit outside Dhaka right after leading Abhani Limited to DPL (Dhaka Premier League) glory in April. The all-rounder had last played for Bangladesh in an ODI against Sri Lanka back in January.
