Rubel Hossain earns a demerit point

Rubel Hossain has received an official reprimand for breaching ICC’s code of conduct during Bangladesh’s second T20I against Afghanistan. The seamer has been awarded a demerit point as well.
During the 11th over of Afghanistan’s innings, Rubel showed dissent after the umpire turned down his lbw appeal against Samiullah Shenwari in after the bowling the fourth delivery of the over.

The charge was levelled by on-field umpires Izatullah Safi and Bismillah Jan Shinwari, and third umpire Ahmed Shah Pakteen and fourth umpire Mehmood Kharotai. The sanctions were imposed without a formal hearing because the paceman did not contest the charges.
Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh by six wickets and sealed the three-match series 2-0. The third and final T20I of the series will take place on June 7.
Previously, Shakib Al Hasan and Nurul Hasan were given a demerit point each due to aggressive behavior during a match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the Nidhas Trophy in March.
