Bangladesh squad announced for Women's Asia Cup

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 15-member squad on Wednesday (May 30) ahead of the 2018 Women’s Asia Cup. The team will fly out to Malaysia on June 1 to participate in the tournament starting from June 3.
Salma Khatun will be leading the side in the six-team competition. Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in their first match on June 3. They will then face Pakistan, India, Thailand, and the hosts on June 4, 6, 7 and 9 respectively.
All the teams will play each other before the top-two teams play the final match to bring down the curtain on the continental championship on June 10.

This is the seventh edition of the tournament, four of which were held in ODI format, and India have won all six editions of the tournament.
Following the tournament, Bangladesh will travel to Ireland for a three-T20I series against the Irish team, which is scheduled to commence from June 28. After the series, the Tigress will start their mission to qualify for the ICC Women’s World T20 by playing the qualifiers in Netherlands.
Bangladesh had a disappointing campaign in South Africa recently and lost all matches in a five-ODI and a three-T20I series. They will look to mount a comeback by producing some positive results in this tournament.
Bangladesh T20I squad: Salma Khatun (captain), Nahida Akter, Rumana Ahmed, Panna Ghosh, Nigar Sultana, Lily Rani Biswas, Fargana Haque, Sanjida Islam, Khadaija Tul Kubra, Sharmin Sultana, Fahima Khatun, Jahanara Alam, Ayesha Rahman, Shamima Sultana and Jannatul Ferdous Sumona.
