United Arab Emirates based coach Irfan Ansari has been suspended by the ICC after Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Khan accused Ansari of coming up with a spot-fixing offer.

ICC has charged the coach with three counts of breaching its anti-corruption code. Ansari will have 14 days from May 19 to respond to the charges.

“Ansari has been provisionally suspended with immediate effect and has been charged for directly soliciting, inducing, enticing or encouraging a participant to breach the code and for failure or refusal to cooperate with the anti-corruption unit's investigation," said an ICC release.

“The ICC will not make any further comment in respect of these charges at this stage,” the statement added.

Irfan Ansari is originally from Pakistan and has coached a number of small professional clubs in the UAE. He is affiliated to a team that participates in international matches and also provides net bowlers to teams in the UAE.

Ansari had allegedly made a spot-fixing offer to the Pakistan captain ahead of the third ODI against Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi, in October last year. Sarfraz was quick to alert the PCB, who immediately reported it to the ICC.

Ansari failed to provide requested information to ICC's anti-corruption unit on two separate occasions which resulted in a suspension for the coach.
