‘Disallowed dismissal of Shakib cost KXIP the match’

This has now become a trend for SRH bowlers to win them matches. The game on Thursday was the same lot for the Hyderabad-based franchise as they crushed Kings XI Punjab to complete a sweet revenge for the defeat to the same foe just a week ago.
After registering a sub-par total of 132 runs facing some brilliant over from Ankit Rajpoot who bagged a fifer, SRH were pretty much on the verge of losing the game as the openers of KXIP weren’t in amood to give the math away. But as soon as the top-order went down it took the whole team with it as the rest of the batting line-up crumbled like a pack of cards to quickly get bundled out for 119 runs.
Muttiah Muralitharan again expressed his satisfaction with the spinners they have got, during the game. Two of their spinner, Shakib AL Hasan and Rashid Khan, scalped 5 wickets after bowling a total of 7 overs. And that was enough for the home-side as they have also edged past KXIP in the points table.

Muralitharan said, “We’ve got very good spinners in Rashid Khan and Shakib [Al Hasan]. Rashid is young and Shakib is very experienced. There is also Mohammad Nabi who is very experienced. So we have a very good spin attack.”
Ajit Agarkar, on the other hand, had a slightly different take and said the dropped catch dropping Manish Pandey off Rajpoot alongside Shakib’s dismissal that was disallowed due to a no-ball actually were the big mistakes apart from bringing Manoj Tiwary into the attack. A big chunk of the total, 82 runs, came off their bat and Agarkar was certainly right to think so.
“They dropped a crucial catch of Pandey and got the wicket of Shakib in a no-ball. [They were the] two guys who actually got the runs for them in the middle,” said Agarkar in a post-match show at ESPNcricinfo.
