‘Mustafiz isn't the same bowler he used to be’

It has been three years since Mustafizur Rahman joined the Tigers. In his debut game which was a T20I match against Pakistan, he returned 2/20 in 4 overs. The bowling prodigy caught the eye of many with his cutters which later earned him a nickname—‘cutter master’.
After Bangladesh won the one-off T20I, Mustafiz went on to help the team clinch their maiden ODI series victories against India and South Africa.
The fast-bowler cemented his place in the national team and continued showcasing his mesmerizing performances. He won the “Emerging Player” award IPL 2016 for helping his team—Sunrisers Hyderabad to title glory.

Right after a magnificent IPL campaign the “Fizz” was ruled out for six months due to a severe injury. Since then he has been trying to find his old self back. He has been through many ups and downs over the last three years and fought against all odds to pave his way back to the national team.
His recent performance in the ongoing IPL has been a blend of good and bad as his team is trying to turn things around in their favor after a nightmare start. However, Sri Lanka batting great Kumar Sangakkara thinks that Mustafiz still is a very good bowler and he will have to work on his control over the variations the 22-year-old has up his sleeves.
“Mustafiz's bowling has variety. He returned from a sever shoulder-injury. Mustafiz may not be the bowler he used to be yet he is still a very good bowler. Although there are many variations in his bowling, he has to work with the control over it,” said Sangakkara.
