CSA and SACA conflict set to come to a close

Cricket South Africa (CSA) and South African Cricketers’ Association (SACA) will be holding a meeting on Wednesday in order to sort certain things out regarding players’ contracts. Both parties want to reach a common ground which, according to SACA, will be done by May 1.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between CSA and SACA, expires on April 30. It is expected to be delayed, because last week, CSA's acting CEO Thabang Moroe said the board would look to roll the player contracts over until the MOU gets finalized in July. That means the majority of the cricketers will be out of a contract till then which can actually worsen the situations between the players and the board.
On the other hand, SACA claimed that they had no such confirmation from CSA that the MOU would be settled by July. They blamed the governing body of the country’s cricket for delays and also accused them of avoiding SACA’s messages.

SACA has stressed that contracts could not be rolled over as they would need to fit within the new MOU’s framework. However, it appears the player contracts could be completed by the time the MOU expires; hence, the situations are likely to return to normal soon.
“We're hoping to reach some kind of agreement which will at least enable player contracts to actually happen on May 1,” Tony Irish, the SACA chief executive, told ESPNcricinfo. “If we don't reach agreement by the end of the week at the latest I think the current level of uncertainty and concern will escalate further.”
Both CSA and SACA have indicated that the MOU will remain largely the same but as per the board’s indication in December last year, they would like to step aside from the revenue sharing model. CSA also wants to redefine its relationship with SACA, which could bring about some changes in the terms of the MOU.
