Delhi look to revive against against in-form KXIP

It’s been an amazing journey for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL so far and the men led by Ashwin would like it to remain that way when they take on Delhi Daredevils on Monday. With four victories five matches, KXIP will face a side that has a totally opposite number of wins and losses.

Delhi will play their first home-game in this season and would like to build a good record at home. Kings XI, on the other side, will try to extend their winning streak further.

Delhi Daredevils

Having one of the most balanced sides in the tournament, DD have failed to capitalize on the variety they have in the squad. Gautam Gambhir, a captain who knows how to turn things around in his favor, will have to ensure that their plans are being executed in a more clinical way.

Mohammad Shami could make a return to the starting eleven for today’s match. If so, Harshal Patel will have to make way for the pacer. Gurkeerat Singh Mann could also play his maiden game of the season by replacing an underperforming Vijay Shankar.

Predicted XI: Jason Roy, Gautam Gambhir, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Glenn Maxwell, Chris Morris, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Rahul Tewatia, Mohammed Shami, Shahbaz Nadeem, Trent Boult

Kings XI Punjab

With Chris Gayle in the squad, the Punjab-based franchise has only become stronger. The Caribbean has been partnering with another explosive batsman—KL Rahul to set the stage for their win.

With the likes of Mayank Agarwal, Karun Nair, Aaron Finch, and Yuvraj Singh, the rest of the batting line-up is also capable of doing should the need arise. Their bowling attack, spearheaded by the captain himself, can also dominate and win matches.

As Axar Patel’s fitness remain in doubt, KXIP are likely to field the same eleven from their last game.

Predicted XI: Lokesh Rahul, Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, Karun Nair, Aaron Finch, Yuvraj Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin, Andrew Tye, Barinder Sran, Ankit Rajpoot, Mujeeb Ur Rahman

Prediction

KXIP are leading the head-to-head 12-9 whereas Delhi are ahead by 5-4 at this ground. However, based on their recent performances, KXIP seem to have an upper hand although DD will be raring a hit in their own backyard.
