Mumbai still struggling to get things on track

Rajasthan Royals have finally managed to come out of their losing streak by pushing Mumbai Indians back into their miserable run.
Winning the toss MI opted to bat first. A 129-run 2nd-wicket partnership saved their innings while both of Ishan Kishan and Surykumar Yadav picked up a half-century. Yadav became the only scalp of Jaydev Unadkat, scoring 72 runs. Ishan was dismissed by Dhawal Kulkarni who previously picked up the wicket of Evin Lewis.
Except for another 21-run innings from Kieron Pollard no other batsmen got into double-digit scores, thanks to a late strike from Jofra Archer who took three scalps to crush MI’s middle-order in his last over.
Mumbai registered a total of 167 runs for 7 wickets and had nearly defended it until Krishnappa Gowtham clubbed a match-defining innings.

With an innings of 52 from Sanju Samson, accompanied by another 40-run knock from Ben Stokes, RR were looking good but experienced a collapse in the middle-order after these two batsmen’s exit.
Although it was looking like MI were getting away with this one, Gowtham’s brilliance blew all the doubts away from RR’s path to the victory. He singlehandedly steered the team to a 3-wicket victory with 2 deliveries remaining in their innings.
The 29-year-old went all guns blazing with an 11-ball innings of 33 runs. He came in when 43 runs were required from 17 deliveries. While Archer gave his wicket away at the other end, Gowtham ensured that his team is bagging those two points tonight.
Mitchell McClenaghan, Krunal Pandya, and Mustafizur Rahman, all got one wicket apiece for MI. Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah scalped 2 wickets each, yet failed to produce a positive outcome for the Mumbai-based franchise.
