Russell's injury could be a setback for KKR

Kolkata Knight Riders might deal a major blow as Andre Russell suffered an injury and had to walk off the field during their match against KXIP, on Saturday.
The injury occurred when Russell was about to deliver the last ball of the fourth over in KXIP’s innings. He stopped just before delivering the ball, clutched his right thigh and was immediately taken off the ground.
Nitish Rana finished the over off after Rinku Singh came on as a sub for Russell. KKR eventually lost the match as Gayle’s blistering knock ensured a 9-wicket win for KXIP.

Andre Russell has been pivotal to KKR’s triumphs in this season so far. He has scored 163 runs and bagged a wicket in six matches. His absence could be crucial for a side that has managed to win three out of their six games until now.
There were doubts regarding Andre Russell’s fitness before the commencement of this season of the IPL. The Caribbean had pulled a hamstring in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) last month.
The all-rounder had then thanked Usain Bolt's physio Everald 'Eddie' Edwards for helping him get into shape quickly after the injury. "Eddie is a good guy. He used to be Usain Bolt's physio. We all know Usain Bolt is the fastest man in the world. I am the second fastest (laughs)… You need guys like Edward around you. He is my personal physio," Russell posted.
Russell made his return to the game after serving a year-long ban for breaching a doping-code. He has been recalled to the West Indian squad too ahead of their clash against the World XI on May 31.
