Aussie coach and ODI captain to be named ahead of next tour

Australian cricket is currently undergoing a reformation with their regular captain Steve Smith and his deputy David Warner banned from the game for a year.
Their former coach Darren Lehmann stepped down in the wake of the ball-tampering scandal. Another batsman Cameron Bancroft was also handed a nine-month suspension following the incident.
Tim Paine took charge of the team as Test captain, by replacing Smith but a replacement for Lehmann is yet to be named.

According to cricket.com.au, Cricket Australia [CA] has confirmed that a decision on the coach issue will be finalized “in coming weeks”, ahead of their next playing engagement--Qantas tour of England in early June.
The source also confirmed that CA Board met in Melbourne to discuss the process of naming a coach, as well as captain and deputy of men’s ODI outfit prior to their upcoming series. Board chair David Peever said recommendations for candidates for leadership positions will be sought from CA, with those names likely to be ratified and then publicly announced.
“The Board has asked management to provide recommendations regarding candidates for the Men’s Head Coach, ODI Captain and ODI Vice-Captain,” Peever said in a statement released after the meeting on Friday.
“Once these appointments have been endorsed and finalised, announcements can then be made,” it added.
Whoever gets the ODI captaincy is expected to be leading the team in the ICC World Cup in England and Wales next year.
