RCB seek revival against a desperate Mumbai

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians will lock horns at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday. While RCB have won one of their three matches, MI have failed to register a single victory until now.

Both teams have had their fair share of miseries despite having a strong side in this season so far. The men led by Rohit Sharma will be raring a hit against Kohli’s band in the upcoming clash.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai have been the most unfortunate side since the beginning of this season losing all three of their matches by a narrow margin. Their death bowling seems to be too close yet too far away from making the franchise meet its ultimate goal.

Rohit Sharma has not been able to perform as well and will look to turn things around in his favor ahead of the clash. Kieron Pollard will also have to offer the team something in order to break their losing streak.

Mitchell McClenaghan is expected to make a return in place of Akila Dananjaya whose inclusion did not pay off in the last match.

The battle tonight will also see Mustafizur Rahman facing Virat Kohli. The India skipper had gone after “the fizz” from the bowler's very second ODI in international cricket. Kohli then got the better of Rahman in subsequent games as well. Mustafiz has faced Kohli thrice in IPL 2016 and got him out once.

Predicted XI: Suryakumar Yadav, Evin Lewis, Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mayank Markande, Jasprit Bumrah, Mustafizur Rahman

Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB have found a great combination in their starting line-up and yet are capable of replacing some of their crucial team-members with the kind of squad they have. But the players are not having each other’s back and could be specified as a cause of their failure here. When their batsmen perform, the bowlers fail to turn up. Only once it hasn’t been the case and RCB dominated the match in great fashion.

So, they will have to work as a team and take advantage of every individual performance.

RCB are likely to add an all-round option in place of Brendon McCullum. Parthiv Patel is also likely to start for them in place of Pawan Negi.

Predicted XI: Quinton de Kock, Parthiv Patel, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Mandeep Singh, Corey Anderson/Colin de Grandhomme, Washington Sundar, Chris Woakes, Umesh Yadav, Kulwant Khejroliya, Yuzvendra Chahal

Prediction

MI have won four out of five contests at this venue against RCB. On the other hand, the only victory that RCB had here saw a them smash the highest total (235/1) at this venue.

However, performance on the ground wins you matches rather than statistics. And it seems like Mumbai are going to present their first win in this season in front of the Mumbaikars.
