Uncertainty looms over PCB and UAE's future association

Pakistan Cricket Board [PCB] is clearly not happy with the fact that the United Arab Emirates authorities are planning to host multiple T20 leagues in future alongside the Pakistan Super League [PSL]. Besides, their attempts to host their own Emirates T20 League, the UAE are also likely to host the Afghan Premier League as well.
The PCB has blatantly warned the UAE authorities to choose between them and the other leagues. They have also moved to bring down the rent they pay to the UAE for using their stadiums.
PCB have been trying to make international cricket return to Pakistan. After the Lahore attacks in 2009, the country missed the opportunity to host international cricket for six years until Zimbabwe national team toured Pakistan in 2015.

In the recent times, PCB has been successful in hosting a T20I series between Pakistan and World XI along with hosting West Indies and also two playoffs and the final match of PSL. Yet it will take long for other cricketing nations to once again start touring Pakistan and offer resurgence to its cricketing actions; hence PCB contingent visited Malaysia to fix a second option for Pakistan’s games.
Hosting Pakistan’s fixtures in Malaysia will help cut down PCB’s ground expenses to half as compared to the UAE.
To check the feasibility of the stadiums, PCB has planned to organize women’s cricket series against Australia in Malaysia. The series is scheduled to be played in October this year. The women’s team will also participate in the Asia Cup in the same country in June 2018.
Meanwhile, a meeting to discuss these matters will take place on April 18 in Dubai where PCB and the Emirates authorities will discuss their future association.
