Liton-Afif's centuries end the match in a draw


The clash between Central Zone and North Zone ended suffered the same fate as the match between East Zone and South Zone as both ended in draw on Friday.
The Central-North game saw only three innings of batting from the teams as North Zone fell victim to a follow-on and ended the game with a score of 213/2 in the 3rd innings. Mizanur Rahman scored an unbeaten hundred and shared a 154-run partnership with Nazmul Hossain Shanto who scored 89 runs before getting dismissed.
In the 1st innings, Marshall Ayub and Shadman Islam’s centuries powered Central Zone to pose a daunting 529-run total. Then a 111-run knock from Mushfiqur Rahim could not prevent North Zone from following on.
North Zone’s Ariful Haque and Central Zone’s Ebadat Hossain returned the best bowling figures in the match by bagging 4 wickets each.

Another match saw two brilliant centuries from Liton Das and Afif Hossain on day-4 as East Zone went on to chase down the target of 415 runs. With a run rate near 5, East Zone could only score 224/1 before the umpires called a halt.
Tushar Imran’s twin hundreds provided South Zone with a good lead against a side that scored only 300 runs in the 2nd innings.
After the fourth round, North Zone are leading the table while Central Zone lie at the bottom with East Zone and South Zone in the middle.
