BCB set to introduce high-tech features ahead of BPL 2018

Bangladesh Premier League [BPL] always had everything that a domestic franchise league needs to offer to its audiences but it always came short of the glamour of the Indian Premier League or the technological splendor that the Big Bash League presents.
However, this time, the governing body of Bangladesh’s cricket—Bangladesh Cricket Board [BCB] has decided to leave no stones unturned to turn BPL into a flawless package of T20 cricket. BCB director and media committee chairman Jalal Yunus has reportedly confirmed the inclusion of LED stumps, Spidercam, and DRS system for a qualitative change in the tournament.

“We are ready to bear the expenses required for Spidercam. We are also trying to introduce Zings stumps in the next edition of the BPL,” said Yunus.
While other countries mandate it for the broadcasters to cover domestic matches while distributing media rights, Bangladesh domestic circuit has missed its fair share of media exposure due to the mishandling of contracts. According to the BCB spokesperson, this issue will be fixed as well.
Bangladesh has been scrutinized for its poor wickets in the recent times. The board has decided to bring in three Indian curators in order to get better pitches. Praveen Hingnikar, one of those three appointed curators, has already started serving the purpose and the other two will also join in a month to start working in tandem as per Jalal Yunus’ confirmation.
