Afridi: ‘Wouldn't join IPL even if they called me’

Former Pakistan player Shahid Afridi seems to be overly impressed with the prospect of the Pakistan Super League [PSL]. According to him, PSL will soon leave IPL behind while emerging as the biggest tournament.
Afridi said that he wouldn’t go to IPL even if he had been asked to join the cash-rich league. He featured in PSL this year for Karachi Kings who stood second in the league round but eventually got knocked out in the playoffs.

“Even if they called me, I wouldn't go to the IPL,” Afridi said. “The PSL is the biggest and there will be a time that it leaves the IPL behind.
“I am enjoying the PSL, I don't have any need for the IPL. I'm not interested in it and never was.”
The 38-year-old played for Deccan Chargers in the only edition of the IPL that allowed the Pakistani players to participate. Following the 2008 Mumbai Attacks, the Pakistani players were banned from the league and the suspension has been in effect ever since.
