Three back-to-back centuries from Mohammad Ashraful could not save Kalabagan Krira Chakra from getting relegated to Dhaka First Division Cricket League. As the right-handed batsman surpassed Anamul Haque Bijoy to become the leading run-scorer in the Dhaka Premier League this season, the rest of his team failed to capitalize on his efforts in their last match against Brothers Union in the relegation league.

Batting first Kalabagan registered a total of 252 runs losing 3 wickets. Their opening batsman Faysal Ahmed could not manage to score more than 4 runs before getting out bowled by Khaled Ahmed.

Ashraful then shared a 116 run stand with another opener Waliul Karim who made 79 runs before getting out by Sohrawordi Shuvo. The same bowler later dismissed Munim Shahriar on 35 runs.

Kalabagan skipper Faruque Hossain remained 28 runs and prevented further wicket loss by stitching an unbeaten partnership with Ashraful.

Brothers Union also got a century from their opener Mizanur Rahman who scored 115 runs and was accompanied by tiny innings from the other end. After Mukhtar Ali removed Junaid Hossain on 16 runs, Jamiul Hasan joined the hunt and scalped three wickets including that of Mizanur. However, that was not proven enough as Yasir Ali and Nazmus Sadat built an unbeaten 75-run partnership to steer their team to the victory with 33 balls remaining.

Yasir clubbed 45 runs and Nazmus contributed 32 runs to the total. Brothers Union won the match by 6 wickets and will face Agrani Bank in the last match of the relegation league to decide the team that will join Kalabagan in the downgrading.
