Cummins dismisses ball tampering claims

Australia quick Pat Cummins has laughed off the claims of ball-tampering during day one of the third Test against South Africa. While Dean Elgar batted through the entire day, the Aussie bowling attack sent eight of the Proteas batsmen back to the hut.
Pat Cummins bowled brilliantly and finished the day with bowling figures of 4/64. However, the Australian paceman could not avoid controversies as he “mistakenly” stepped on the ball in the 53rd over.
"What do you want me to say?" he asked regarding that incident. "It was a mistake. It was obviously very unintentional."

"I think he [the umpire] had a look (at the ball) straight away, but there were no issues, so he passed it on," he added.
The series has already seen its fair share of controversies following the incident between David Warner and Quinton de Kock. And now the social media went berserk with many people claiming that Cummins did that intentionally.
In 2016, Faf du Plessis was fined his entire match fee after the second Test in Hobart in 2016. So, ball-tampering is certainly a talking point when it comes to a bilateral series between these two teams.
