Rupganj advance to Super League despite defeat to Agrani

The three contests on Tuesday drew the curtain on the group round of the ongoing DPL. Sheikh Jamal sealed their spot in the super six by winning their last match and Legends of Rupganj have also advanced to the next round despite losing on Tuesday.
On the other hand, Kalabagan Krira Chakra and Brothers Union failed to manage a win in their respective matches today and hence finished the round being at the bottom three. Agrani Bank joined them even after winning against Rupganj.
Kalabagan faced Mohammedan Sporting Club and lost the clash by 2 wickets. A fine century from Mohhamd Ashraful powered Kalabagan to put up 260 runs on the scoreboard.
Ashraful clubbed 127 runs before Taijul Islam trapped him lbw. Qazi Onik was the most lethal bowler for Mohammedan as he bagged 6 wickets in the game.
While chasing the target of 261 runs, a 98-run 2nd-wicket partnership shared by Enamul Haque and Rony Talukder made Mohammedan’s task easier. Both had scored a half-century each before returning to the pavilion.
With their exit, Mohammedan kept losing wickets at regular intervals but kept the score ticking. As a result, they cruised to victory with 2 wickets and 4 balls remaining. Sanjit Saha took 3 wickets for Kalabagan but failed to grab a win for his team.
The match between Sheikh Jamal and Brothers Union was a rather low-scoring one as a total of 294 runs were collected by both teams.
Sheikh Jamal registered a total of 184 losing all their wickets in the 1st innings. Opener Shykat Ali picked up a half-century and made 55 runs before leaving the crease but the rest of the batsmen could not bat effectively as the bowlers had to pull off a victory for Sheikh Jamal.
Shohag Gazi and Elias Sunny teamed up to scalp 3 wickets each to crash the middle-order batting line-up and the tailenders as well. Nobody could make a mark for Brothers Union while batting as they got restricted to a puny total of 110 runs.
In the 66th match of the tournament, Agrani Bank won by 6 wickets against Legends of Rupganj.

Batting first, Rupganj posted 204 runs on the scoreboard. Tushar Imran restored their innings when they were at 55 for 5 wickets. Imran was just 2 runs short of a century when Al-Amin Hossain sent him back to the hut. Al-Amin picked up 4 wickets to confine his opponents to a below-par score.
Agrani Bank chased down the target with ease, thanks to a splendid innings of 82 runs from Shahriar Nafees. Following his departure, Shamsul Islam and Dhiman Ghosh scored 41 and 49, respectively. While Shamsul fell victim to a run-out, Dhiman Ghosh remained unbeaten until Agrani Bank clinched a 6-wicket victory over Legends of Rupganj.
