‘Thisara verbally abused me’ - Nurul

It was the virtual semi-final of the Nidahas Trophy when the fans of cricket witnessed some uncouth occurrences during the game.
Bangladesh were facing the hosts—Sri Lanka. 12 runs were required off the last over and after the first two balls in that over, umpire signaled a shoulder-height no-ball and then upon discussions, changed the call. As a result, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan got angry and instructed his players to come off the field.
At the same time, Bangladesh’s 12th man Nurul Hasan got involved in a verbal clash with Sri Lanka captain Thisara Perera. However, Bangladesh went on to win the match and qualified for the final where they eventually lost to India.

Both Shakib and Nurul were fined 25 percent of their match-fee following the incidents in the last group match. Nurul, after returning to Bangladesh, opened up about the incident and said that Thisara had abused him while he was talking to the umpire.
“I entered the field of play and was talking to Riyad before I asked the umpire if the first ball was a bouncer or not,” said Nurul. “Then Thisara came and asked me who was I to talk about this and told me to return. When I told him that it was none of his business, he verbally abused me.”
According to Nurul, he shouldn’t have gotten involved in the heated verbal exchange afterward.
He said, “Maybe I should’ve kept quiet. I was angry and I responded. This is what had happened.”
