Sabbir powers Bangladesh to pose a fighting total


Bangladesh and India face-off against each other in the final match of the Nidahas Trophy. India qualified for the final after winning three of their four games in the group round. Bangladesh, on the other hand, stormed into the final by winning both of their matches against the hosts, Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh faced India in seven T20Is including two clashes in this tournament and have not been able to manage a single win against the Men in Blue. Their defeats against include an Asia Cup final and an awful one-run loss in the ICC World T20 in 2016.
Bangladesh have named the same playing XI from their last match. On the other hand, Jaydev Unadkat has replaced Mohammad Siraj for India.
India decided to bowl first at the R.Premadasa Stadium.
Bangladesh started in a fine manner as both openers were rotating the strike and hitting the appropriate deliveries. However, it didn't take Washington Sundar long to give India a breakthrough. Liton Das was the first batsman to leave the crease scoring 11 runs after he was caught out by Suresh Raina.
Following his exit, Tamim Iqbal got out on 15 he tried to hit Chahal for a maximum but Shardul Thakur took an amazing catch at the boundary to dismiss him. The next man, Soumya also could not manage to stay at the crease for long enough as Chahal again bagged a wicket.

Mushfiq and Sabbir then kept the score ticking after the early blow but Chahal sent Mushfiq back to the hut on 9 runs.
Mahmudullah completed his 1000 T20I runs by adding 4 runs to the total. However, he got dismissed on 21 after falling victim to a runout. Sabbir took off for a run from the non-striking end even though Mahmudullah did not call for it.
Shakib was also runout scoring 7 runs. Sabbir's magnificent innings of 77 runs came to an end as Jaydev Unadkat bowled him out by uprooting the stump. The same over also saw Rubel Hossain getting out for a duck.
However, Mehidy produced a good finish for the Tigers with his cameo of 19 from 7 deliveries.
