BCB regrets unfortunate events during Bangladesh's match

After knocking Sri Lanka out of the tournament that they are hosting, Bangladesh will face India in the final match of Nidahas Trophy on March 18. The last group match between the hosts and Bangladesh was full of heated drama, both on and off the field, especially during the very last over of the game.
The Tigers’ sealed a spot in the final with a 2-wicket victory over Sri Lanka but Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan had called the batsmen back during the last over following a confusion about the umpire’s call.
However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board [BCB] expressed their regret over the unfortunate events through a media release. The board also accepted that the conduct of the team in certain instances was improper. It also acknowledged a positive level of professionalism should have been exhibited while dealing with such tense situation.
The media release also stated, “The BCB and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have a lasting bond which has a deep-rooted history of support and cooperation and the players of both sides continue to share an excellent relationship that gets stronger by the day.
“We look forward to a riveting end to the Nidahas Trophy which has been a brilliantly organized tournament. It has been very competitive and well received by cricket fans around the world and the SLC deserves every praise for that. The Bangladesh Team is proud to be associated with this competition.”

BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon talked about the glass shutter was found broken in Bangladesh’s dressing room. According to him, it might have been done by someone from the Bangladesh team and such incidents are unacceptable.
"Sri Lanka Cricket have contacted our board regarding the matter [broken glass door in the dressing room. Our CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury had informed me about it through phone.
"When I went, there was broken glass lying in the dressing room. But the situation was such that we could not find out in detail why and who have done that. We will try to find it out," said Nazmul Hasan.
"Probably it is done by anyone from our team. Considering our recent standings in the world cricket it is surely not acceptable," he added.
Nazmul Hasan also confirmed that the SLC congratulated the team after the win. He believes that those occurrences during or after the match will not impact BCB’s relationship with SLC.
"I don't think such an incident can make any impact as far as our relationship with SLC is concerned because it is very strong. The SLC president and everyone congratulated us after the win," he said.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Cricket chief Thilanga Sumithapala said that Shakib Al Hasan's actions are "regrettable and unacceptable" following the events of Friday's encounter.
