Bangladeshi fans attacked by Sri Lankans

Bangladesh cruised to a glorious victory against Sri Lanka in the ongoing Nidahas Trophy. With an amazing start by the two openers—Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das, the Tigers successfully chased down 215 runs as Mushfiqur Rahim led them to a thrilling win.
Mushfiq scored 72 off 35 and remained not out until Bangladesh sealed the match. All three teams in the competition have now won one out of two matches each.

After the match, an unpleasant event took place at the R. Premadasa Stadium. During the post-match ceremony, a few members of the Bangladesh Cricket Supporters’ Association [BCSA] were attacked by some Sri Lanka fans. The BCSA members have been supporting the Tigers in this tournament by directly visiting the venues during Bangladesh’s matches.
The violence spread quickly and the situation grew worse, as a result, the security forces had to intervene to get things under control. Following the occurrence, a few fans of the hosting team were extremely regretful that the visiting fans had to go through such unwanted circumstances.
