Bangladesh's losing streak in T20Is stretches to five

After losing against Sri Lanka in their first match, India faced Bangladesh on Thursday in the Nidahas Trophy 2018. The side captained by Rohit Sharma were eagerly looking forward to turning things around while Mahmudullah's Tigers also started the game licking their wounds from a disappointing series against Sri Lanka and eyeing a comeback.
This match was also the first encounter between the two in T20Is after India's 1-run win against Bangladesh in the ICC World T20 in 2016. The Men in Blue also won both of their last ODI and Test clashes against the Men in Red and Green with the latter being in a 1-match series and the former in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 semi-final.
Mushfiqur Rahim played his 500th ICC recognized match on Thursday and became the second Bangladeshi after Shakib to achieve this milestone.
Winning the toss India decided to bowl first. Bangladesh started their innings with their two regular openers Soumya Sarkar and Tamim Iqbal. Soumya was trying to keep attacking the bowlers whereas Tamim kept his calm and continued rotating the strike.
However, Soumya got out scoring 14 off 12 as Unadkat gave India the breakthrough. Following his departure, Shardul Thakur sent Tamim back to the hut on 15 runs.
The team then kept losing wickets at regular intervals while Liton Das and Sabbir Rahman tried to salvage some pride for the Tigers. Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah could not manage to make more than 1 run and got dismissed by Vijay Shankar who previously dismissed Mushfiq on 18 runs.
Liton returned to the pavilion after posting 34 runs to the scoreboard. Sabbir played an innings of 30 runs laced with 3 fours and 1 six. Unadkat was the bowler who bagged his wicket.

The rest of the batsmen also failed to meet the expectations and could not reach the double-digit runs each. Bangladesh ended up registering 139 for 8 and now it's India's turn to show what they have up their sleeves to chase down the below par score.
Before India could settle things for a comfortable chase, Mustafiz shone for the Tigers by dismissing Rohit Sharma on 17 runs. Following Rohit's exit, Rishabh Pant got out bowled by Rubel Hossain after scoring 7 runs.
With the two batsmen dismissed, Dhawan and Raina shared a 68-run partnership to lift the score past 100. Rubel picked up the wicket of Suresh Raina after the left-handed batsman scored 28 runs.
Dhawan picked up a crucial half-century and 55 runs before Taskin Ahmed finally scalped his wicket. Manish Pandey and Dinesh Karthik remained not out on 27 and 2 runs, respectively as India cruised to victory with 8 balls remaining.
