What a way to comeback into the series! With captain Rohit Sharma’s double-century India have put up a massive total of 392 losing just 4 wickets in the 50 over span.

Sri Lanka won the toss and sent India to bat first at Mohali in the 2nd game of the 3 match ODI series. India put up a target of 393 runs before Sri Lanka.

Suffering a humiliating defeat in the 1st contest, today’s match is a do-or-die one for the Indian team at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium today.

Captain Kohli tied his knot with Bollywood diva Anushka Sharma in Italy on Monday. During his absence, Rohit Sharma is taking care of the team.

Although he had failed miserably both as a batsman and a leader in the first ODI, he is looking forward to make things better and fix situations up a little bit. His knock of an unbeaten 208 runs off just 153 deliveries makes him the only player to score 3 double-centuries! Woah!

The other opener, Shikhar Dhawan, batted in fine tune on the way of picking up his half-century. Scoring 68 runs off 67 balls, Dhawan has given the kind of support the double-centurion and the captain was looking for.

Shreyas Iyer, who had scored 9 runs in his debut match, was just 12 runs short of his maiden ODI hundred playing his very 2nd match.

MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya faced 5 deliveries and picked up 7 and 8 runs respectively before getting dismissed by Thisara Perera.

While the savior of the Indian innigs in the last match —Dhoni, could not reach the double-digit, Rohit Sharma smashed 12 over-boundaries and 13 boundaries.

As team India are eyeing for a victory today, 18-year-old Washington Sundar made his debut as a replacement for an injured Kedar Jadhav. He is the 7th youngest player to make it on the ground wearing the blue jersey.

Another debutant, Siddharth Kaul, will also try to continue his run of success in the domestics. Defending the total of 393 runs, the bowlers of India will have to pick up early wickets and be economic at the same time to seal this match.

Sri Lankan bowlers, on the other hand, were looking helpless in front of the mighty Indian batsmen, especially Rohit.

Nuwan Pradeep conceded 106 runs in the 10 overs he had bowled and failed to pick up any wicket. His performance also made it to the 4th most expensive innings bowled by a single bowler.

Angelo Mathews bowled 4 overs and allowed just 9 runs off it, while Perera, the captain himself, allowed 80 runs in the 8 over he has bowled and bagged 3 wickets. Suranga Lakmal bowled the same number of overs as Perera, giving away 71 runs and remaining wicketless. Akila Dananjaya bowled 10 overs in which he conceded 51 runs with getting no batsman dismissed.

Sri Lanka’s job becomes a lot tougher as India are already on the driving seat and steering this match to their favor.
