BCB gets more CVs

While the waves were created with the announcement of Shakib
al-Hasan as the new Test captain of Bangladesh with Mahmudullah Riyad as his
deputy, there seems to be much more going on behind the scenes.
BCB president, Nazmul Hasan Papon, a man known to speak his
mind, revealed on Sunday that there will be changes in the internal structure
of the team. He added that the management has received two more CVs after the
shortlist was cut down.
“The surprising thing is, we got two more CVs today
[Sunday],” said Hassan after the BCB meeting yesterday.
“But other than that we have shortlisted the candidates, and
after the meeting the list has become shorter, with two new names appearing
today.

He also further added that there is “someone else” with whom
almost everything has been finalized, but refused to reveal the name before he
could be certain about the whole issue.
“Other than that, there is someone else with whom almost
everything has been finalised other than his remuneration and joining date. We
have to wait a bit for that.”
The coach situation of Bangladesh is taking a little longer
to be resolved than expected. The BCB are on the lookout, but aren’t going to
make a hasty decision. Meanwhile, there are rumours of World Cup winning-coach,
Gary Kirsten, to play some sort of a role with Bangladesh cricket – which would
be a bigger role than that of a coach – and that the South African is also very
keen to take it up.
Apart from that, according to some sources, the two new CVs belonged to South Africa’s Neil McKenzie and Sri Lankan, Hassan Tillakaratne, but there are no whispers in the air about whether they are goig to be seriously considered or not.
