Virat Kohli ranked 2nd in latest Test ranking

Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, is now the second best Test
batsmen in the world, according to the latest ICC Test rankings. The former U19
captain moved three places up following a terrific series against Sri Lanka,
where he scored 610 in 5 innings for India.
Kohli was playing the best Test cricket of his career
against Sri Lanka. He smashed two back-to-back double hundreds, with the 243 in
Delhi being his best score, to break his way forward. The Indian captain has amassed 893 points
while the Australia captain has 938 under his belt.

This sees him leapfrog from 5 to 2, overtaking Chestehwar
Pujara, Joe Root and Kane Williamson in the process. He is, however, only
bettered by Australia captain, Steven Smith, who leads him by 45 points –
denying him of the honour of becoming the only player after Ricky Ponting to
hold the first spot in all formats.
The only other player to have that distinction was Mathew
Hayden.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Test captain, Dinesh Chandimal, made
his way into the top for the first time in his career – moving up 8 places to 9th,
with his 366 runs in the series against India helping his cause.
